News 2026 / ALPI Aurora and Birch / Design Yabu Pushelberg
ALPI Aurora, the new collection of surfaces by the Canadian firm Yabu Pushelberg, is inspired by tree-bark motifs and suggestions of dream worlds. Available in two versions. ALPI Aurora Purple explores an intense and shimmery chromatic spectrum: deep shades of purple, blue and petroleum green traverse the material in gradual passages, similar to stratifications of light. The design seems to expand and contract, alternating denser and more compact zones with luminous openings that change according to the perspective. The result is a vibrant presence, a balance of design precision and atmospheric aura, evocative of a landscape in continual transformation. ALPI Aurora Natural proposes a more textural and cadenced surface in a sequence of brown tones ranging from light to dark.
The surfaces of the ALPI Birch collection reinterpret the natural elegance of birch bark in three colourways. ALPI Birch White takes inspiration from the natural colours of the tree, offering a luminous and realistic impression. Chromatic variations build depth, suggesting the movement of light without ever becoming explicit. ALPI Birch Grey is set in an intermediate range, where grey tones soften the contrast and make a more uniform surface in which the grain emerges with discretion. ALPI Birch Black introduces a decisive contrast. The dark ground emphasises the pale grain, which pops to the fore as defined markings. The design hereby acquires more impact, while maintaining a balanced composition. The natural reference remains recognisable, but is progressively brought back to a design logic in which the variations of the pattern define the surface.
The ALPIlignum Collection is FSC® 100% certified (FSC-C004666), thanks to full control of the supply chain. All products are available with IMO-MED certification, the European Union directive for the safety of maritime products. Regarding fire safety, the ALPIlignum Collection possesses a flame-resistance classified as Bs1d0, giving the veneers a high level of safety and conformity with design requirements.
