Salone del Mobile.Milano | FuoriSalone 2026
Milan Design Week 2026. ALPI presents a new chapter of its research into wood as a designed surface. Products for 2026 embrace two complementary sensibilities – Piero Lissoni's structured restraint and Yabu Pushelberg's dreamy imagination – broadening the range of aesthetic views involving the expressive possibilities of wood.
While Lissoni has been the creative director at ALPI since 2015, the Canadian firm Yabu Pushelberg has now collaborated with the company for the first time. The combination of their two perspectives makes for an original demonstration of how exceptionally lively veneer can be in the construction of space and atmosphere.
At the Salone del Mobile.Milano, the ALPI stand designed by Piero Lissoni (S.Project, Pavilion 24, Stand D18) is laid out in sequences and variations whose rhythm and alternation create a heterogeneous panorama of the potential of ALPI wood. The ALPI showroom downtown displays a more intimate installation, where vertical and sculptural elements merge with silhouettes of forest creatures and references to nature, welcoming visitors to an imaginative, immersive landscape.
Yabu Pushelberg is behind the two collections ALPI Aurora and ALPI Birch, which explore veneer as a perceptual field.
ALPI Aurora Purple is a deep chromatic range of purple, blue and petroleum green running through the wood in shimmery succession.
ALPI Aurora Natural is a mesmerising blend of pale brown and cool beige in a softly flowing pattern.
With differing luminosity, ALPI Birch White, ALPI Birch Grey and ALPI Birch Black render homage to the rhythmic pattern of natural markings found on birch bark.
In parallel, Piero Lissoni's research into wood species and their contemporary rereading has continued with ALPI Xilo Acacia, a veneer that enriches and emphasises the structure and tonal depth of acacia wood, and ALPI Microline, available in seven tints, a surface of very thin lines arranged in a regular grain, only visible from up close.
