ALPI@MILAN DESIGN WEEK 2026
At ALPI, ongoing research into veneer involves a broad range of design sensibilities. Diverse talents are invited to explore and amplify the expressive possibilities of wood. The continuous deepening and widening of approaches results in a rich array of natural surfaces for contemporary living.
The new veneers presented during Milan Design Week 2026 juxtapose Piero Lissoni's rigor and purity with Yabu Pushelberg's dreamy imagination. While Piero Lissoni has been the company's creative director for 11 years, the Canadian firm has now collaborated with ALPI for the first time.
ALPI Aurora Purple and ALPI Aurora Natural by Yabu Pushelberg are sumptuous studies of chromatic hues travelling through the material in gradients, much like the vibrancy of light waves. Dense, compact shading alternates with open, luminous areas that seem to shimmer when seen from certain angles, making the surface a reverberant blend of design precision and atmospheric suggestion.
The gentle streaks of ALPI Birch White, ALPI Birch Grey and ALPI Birch Black evoke the natural rhythm of birch bark in three opposite types of luminosity.
Piero Lissoni's work is centered on a streamlined rereading of the material, where control of the texture is key to the design.
ALPI Xilo Acacia emphasizes the structure and tonal depth of acacia wood, made unexpectedly characterful by a special thermal technique.
The finely tuned grain of ALPI Microline, available in seven shades, offers quiet graphic interest. An evenly dense surface configuration redefines the relationship between natural and artificial.
The collections will be presented at the ALPI showroom on Via Solferino and at the furniture fair Salone del Mobile.Milano located at Rho Fiera, where research into veneer gives shape to a spatial route traversing material and architecture.
